Joburg is one of the busiest cities in the country, and because of this there are new leisure activities popping up all the time, all of which have been designed to temporarily whisk you away from the high-energy lifestyle that often characterizes the city.
Over the past few years, Johannesburg has seen some of the world's biggest sporting events, as well as internationally syndicated live concerts, plays and musicals at the various world-class theatres and venues dotted around the city. If art is more your thing, there are galleries aplenty – the Johannesburg Art Gallery is in fact the biggest gallery in the sub-continent, and there you will find beautiful work from around the world. But if you’re in the mood for something simple, you can always round off your afternoon feeding ducks in one of the many beautiful city-managed parks.
